TWIN SCREW PUMP
Twin screw pump is type of positive displacement pump that uses two rotating screws or rotors to move fluid. These two threads interact with each other in the pump casing to form a closed space that moves fluid from the inlet to the outlet. Twin screw pumps are known for their ability to handle a wide range of fluids, including high viscosity fluids, abrasive fluids, and fluids containing solid particles, as well as their ability to provide a steady, pulsation-free flow.
Types of Double Screw Pumps
Externally Timed Twin Screw Pump:
- Characteristics: Uses timing gears outside the pump casing to synchronize thread movement, so the threads do not touch each other.
- Applications: Ideal for fluids that require clean, contamination-free pumping, such as in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
Internally Timed Twin Screw Pump:
- Characteristics: Threads interact directly with each other inside the pump casing without the need for external timing gears.
- Application: Used for fluids that are not sensitive to slight metal contamination, such as in the chemical and oil & gas industries.
Double Screw Pump Market Segment
Food and Beverage Industry:
- Application: Used to pump high viscosity liquids such as syrups, sauces, juices and dairy products. Advantages in pumping thick and high viscosity fluids without changing product characteristics.
- Requirements: Cleanliness and ease of cleaning according to hygienic standards.
Pharmaceutical industry:
- Application: Used to pump liquid pharmaceutical materials that require high cleanliness and contamination-free flow.
- Requirements: High precision, cleanliness and product integrity.
Chemical Industry:
- Application: Used for pumping hazardous chemicals, corrosives and fluids with various viscosities.
- Requirements: Resistance to aggressive chemicals and the ability to handle fluids with a wide range of characteristics.
Oil and Gas Industry:
- Application: Used for pumping crude oil, refined oil products and drilling mud.
- Requirements: Ability to handle high viscosity fluids and solid particles, as well as operation at high pressure.
Maritime Industry:
- Application: Used for pumping ballast water, fuel and lubricating oil on ships.
- Requirement: Resistance to marine operational conditions and high reliability.
Pulp and Paper Industry:
- Application: Used to pump liquid pulp and chemicals in the paper production process.
- Requirements: Ability to handle abrasive and high viscosity fluids.
